How long will my dentures last?
On average, dentures should be changed every 5 to 8 years. The bone and gums in the mouth are continually changing and the dentures constantly wearing. Over time your dentures will need to be adjusted, relined or replaced to maintain a good fit and proper function.
How much do they cost?
There are many different treatment options available for denture wearers and a vast array of new technologies that can be used. A consultation is required so that together, we can discuss with you the best treatment plan for you and your budget.

How will dentures affect the way I eat?
Eating with dentures for the first time will require some patience. But over time, you will be able to bite and chew more naturally. We provide specific instructions when your dentures are issued to you.
Will they affect my speech?
You may notice some differences in your speech at first but with time your tongue, lips and cheeks will become accustomed to your new dentures.
What is the best way to clean my dentures?
Daily cleaning with a non-abrasive cleaner, such as a liquid soap and a soft bristled brush will help to minimise the build up of plaque and stains on your dentures. Toothpaste is an abrasive that can be quite harsh on some denture materials. We also offer a professional cleaning service if needed.
Should I take my dentures out at night?
Most denture patients are advised to leave their dentures out at night. We will advise you what to do, depending on what denture treatment you receive.
Will I need to see a Dentist?
Dental Prosthetists are fully qualified to construct and fit your new dentures. However, if we think you need to see a dentist, we can refer you to qualified, credible dentist or oral surgeon in the Sutherland Shire for any dental treatment required.
